As a college student in the teaching program, I think the blog will be a good reference for me to see how other students are handling their particular class loads and specific education classes. I enjoy seeing the regular person's opinions on individual classes, not just the academic points but the social aspects, like the teacher's personality and teacher's classroom setting.
I want to work with high school students and teach English. I think that as a teacher, I can use the blog to let the students know that they are all important and special in their own unique way. I would like to be able to use the blog as a way to converse with the students about topics we might have discussed in school that day. Maybe even allowing that to be a forum for essay papers topics.

Thing 2
I set the blog up as David's mom, Anita Taylor, because most any time I am being introduced that is how I am introduced. My son is very active in our community and is a politician in the making. He never meets a stranger. The blog itself was pretty easy to set up. I don't think I had any major issues anyway. My computer didn't crash anyway. It just took taking time to read and following instructions.
My avatar was the same thing. I was going for a mirror image of myself. I settled for what was like me, I think. After going through all of the hair styles and clothes to set up the avatar, I found that I am out of date in both my hair style and my clothing attire. It does reflect my love of football and puppies.

Thing #1
After reading the 7 and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners, I found the easiest habit for me would be tied between 1)Begin with the end in mind and 7 and 1/2) play.
I find it easy to set goals for myself and don't mind doing what I have to do to complete those goals. I love to play, I love enjoying life and play goes along with that concept. I enjoy watching football and my son play golf.
The hardest habit would be 6) using the technology to my advantage. I have worked with computers and in an office setting for the past 26 years. I am fully aware of all of the technology available, but my fear comes from the students not having the access because of the rural school setting. Obtaining funds for the technology is difficult. I hope to be able to find grants for the technology.
I would like to be able to obtain a good comfort level with all of the sources of technology available. I am hoping by doing these projects and tutorial's I will gain a vast knowledge of what will be available for use in my high school classroom.
