Thing #3

As a college student in the teaching program, I think the blog will be a good reference for me to see how other students are handling their particular class loads and specific education classes. I enjoy seeing the regular person's opinions on individual classes, not just the academic points but the social aspects, like the teacher's personality and teacher's classroom setting.
I want to work with high school students and teach English. I think that as a teacher, I can use the blog to let the students know that they are all important and special in their own unique way. I would like to be able to use the blog as a way to converse with the students about topics we might have discussed in school that day. Maybe even allowing that to be a forum for essay papers topics.

  1. I think as a future English teacher a blog will work very well in your class. Its a good tool for students to use to pratice their writing and grammer. As well as a reading and response tool. You will have lots of f fun with it.

  2. I also want to teach high school English! I agree with you that blogging can be a great way to connect with students outside of the classroom. If the student doesn't take enough away from the in class discussion that day then maybe they could go onto the class blog and see some notes or other discussion as well!

  3. I really like how you want to use the blog to help students feel important. I think this is important for a student to feel welcome in a classroom. As a teacher you never know what is going on in a students life and I think it is important to let them know that they are important. Great insight on this. I really enjoyed it.
