I just recently became a member of TeacherPop. I became a Twitter member in January or February of this year, 2012 for my 3040 EDUC Technologies class. I have been a Facebook member since February 2009. Facebook keeps me in touch with my friends and reconnects us with old friends. I joined Facebook in 2009 to get in touch with our classmates for a 25 year class reunion. Facebook was how we communicated, since we are all so busy and spread out across the nation. Personally I think on an individual basis it is great.
I think I will use the social sites to remind students and parents about homework, tests and extracurricular activities.
